We will leave Iquique in the morning to reach Huara area, 85 km away from the city to visit the Atacama Giant, in Unita hill. It has 86 mts long from the crown of his head and occupy a hillside of 3,000 mts2, being possibly the largest anthropomorphic antique geoglyph in the world. It is supposed to be made between the 900 and 1.450 A.C. The Atacama Giant is one of about 5,000 geoglyphs, ancient works of art that are drawn in the landscape, which have been discovered in Atacama in the last three decades. Although geoglyphs have always been subject of diverse theories, they are now believed to be the work of several successive cultures that inhabited this region of South America, including the Tiwanaku and the Incas.
