All about the CITY TOUR PUERTO IGUAZÚ – HALF DAY.

Puerto Iguazú is a city in the province of Misiones, in the extreme northeast of Argentina. This town has more than 60,000 inhabitants and is located 17 km from the Iguazu Falls, one of the Seven New Natural Wonders of the World. The tourist activity, centered on these waterfalls, is its main economic engine.
In addition, this city is the gateway to the Triple Frontier with Brazil and Paraguay. The neighboring city of Foz de Iguazú, in Brazil, is reached through the Tancredo Neves International Bridge, from which you can cross to the Paraguayan city of Ciudad del Este, through the International Friendship Bridge.
Some tourist attractions (in addition to the Iguazú Falls) are the Three Borders Landmark and the artisan fair located there, La Aripuca, the port, the Museum of Images of the Jungle, the Mbororé Museum, the Luis Honorio Rolón Municipal Natural Park , the Güirá Oga Bird Rehabilitation Center and the Duty Free Shop. In the downtown area there are banks, exchange houses, bars, casinos, restaurants, clothing stores, nightclubs, pubs and confectioneries.

Places of interest:

  • La Aripuca: it is a family Agro-Eco-Tourism enterprise built with the purpose of: creating awareness about the natural resources we have and their importance; encourage actions to preserve and promote the care of the environment; spread the culture, beliefs and traditions of the region. Built with rescued trees, it is inspired by a typical trap of the Guarani people. ” La Aripuca ” imposes itself with its 17 meters of height and more than 500,000 Kgs of weight distributed in 30 native species of the Missionary Jungle, many of them centenarian specimens, grouped to show us what we are losing and how, from the lack of interest and lack of concern for the care of our environment, we will be victims of our own trap. Upon entering the monument you can see each of the trunks, learning from direct contact, a little more about the Missionary Forest and its main protagonists.

  • Güirá Oga: In the refuge of wild animals GüiráOga (“the house of the birds” in guaraní language), the visitor will be able to appreciate, at short distance, the beauty and the coloring of varied species of native birds that are conserved in this center . Its mission is to rescue animals from the missionary jungle from wildlife trafficking, by running over the roads, injured by poachers or voluntarily delivered by the population. Freeing animals with possibilities to survive in nature, recover those with breeding skills in captivity for the reintroduction of their offspring, investigate and work in the same environment where animals live and develop education programs inside and outside Güirá Oga offering the possibility of raising public awareness about the need to protect wildlife and its environment; the missionary mount.

  • Hito de las Tres Fronteras: In the middle of the attractive and suggestive landscape of the confluence of the Paraná and Iguazú rivers, there is the characteristic monolith with the shape of an obelisk, which painted with the patriotic colors, marks the limit of our territory. It is the ideal place to shop in its small craft shops and watch the sunset at the meeting of the three countries. Show of dancing waters at nightfall.

  • La Feirinha: Located in the heart of the city, it is a space that allows experiencing the culture of the Triple Frontier from simplicity. With more than 70 commercial stores, its interior mixes languages, colors, smells and flavors. It is a favorite place for the Brazilian public to try the most delicious cheeses, olives, wines, sausages, enchanting spices and the traditional empanada argentina. It is also ideal to buy alfajores, exquisite typical sweets (dulce de leche, sweet potato sweet and quince) and all kinds of memories of the city.
