On Route 68, in the heart of the Lerma Valley, La Viña appears, a charming town with old houses with galleries where it is said, the first vines were planted in the 18th century. Here the path deviates to Guachipas, 17 kilometers. Under the shadow of the corner of the municipality of the place, with typical architecture Salteña, the same one that surrounds the square, with its inevitable church with its colorful façade and bell tower. 30km away from the town we visit the Painted Caves. On the red sandstone rocks of the geological formations of the Cretaceous period, the Guachipas, true artists, left like illustrations in a book, spectacular drawings and paintings, some colorful, where characters appear in religious ceremonies, ranks of warriors, shamans, the stunning shield men, townspeople and animals like suris, jaguars, birds, butterflies and llamas. Resuming our trip we go to the Cabra Corral Dam where we will have free time to have lunch (lunch not included in the rate). Later we visit Finca Santa Anita, in which family participation has been able to rescue activities and unique pieces, giving shape to the 1st Tobacco Museum of Argentina, an Archaeological Museum of singular importance, to typical productive activities such as the production of goat cheeses, chili peppers and Creole tobacco and smaller but no less attractive collections such as medicinal aromatic species and trees native people. Return to Salta in the afternoon.
Recommendation: bring sunscreen and a hat.
