Visiting Coctaca and Hornocal. We leave from Tilcara or from Purmamarca, and in Humahuaca we take a gravel road, we crossed the place known as “white rock”, the eastern edge of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, and there the adventure of multi-colored villages and ravines begins. A few km. the first ones are covered villages. The imposing farmland of the Coctaca Valley surprises us. Not well into the afternoon, we made a trek to the petroglyphs (drawings carved in the stone) an ancient place with incredible views of the whole valley. Finally, at the end of the day we went up to the viewpoint of the imposing and multicolored Cerro Hornocal, with a beautiful view. There we taste a regional snack and return to Purmamarca or Tilcara.
