SALTA: HISTORICAL CIRCUIT – HALF DAY

The Battle of Salta was one of the most important chapters in national history. Throughout this circuit we will visit the most relevant points for the commemoration of the victorious action of arms of the Gral. Belgrano in 1813. We start in the Portezuelo area, the only entrance that the city had in times of the colony, to continue towards Chachapoyas along the paths traveled by the patriots. We visit Finca Castañares and the museum where Belgrano planned the battle; the tour continues through the Lomas de Medeiros, the place from where Martina Silva de Gurruchaga accompanied by a group of women, joined in a heroic action that the patriotic troops were able to win in this battle. We descend again towards the center of the city to find the monument in homage to those who were part of the battle of February 20. Our tour ends at the Nuestra Señora de la Merced Church, unique in its neo-Gothic style. In its Inside we will be able to appreciate the true historical cross of the Battle of Salta.
