ATACAMA SALT FLAT & TOCONAO – HALF DAY

Heading south from San Pedro de Atacama. On the go, we will be in company by the beautiful Andes Mountain range plus several flora and fauna. After driving a few minutes, a wall of trees will amaze us with its structure and its effect that avoids the expansion of the desert. As a first stop, Toconao Town showcase itself with a unique history and as an oasis that represents such an importance to the local culture due to water that comes from the Andes mountain range and the volcanic fertile soil turns this town into an incredible food producer adding variety to the diet of the region. Finally, on the Soncor Sector of the vast Atacama Salt Flat, one of the seven spots on the Flamingo National Preservation, we will stop at the Chaxa Lagoon where we will find several bird wildlife such as the 3 different types of Flamingos present in this country as well as a breathtaking view to the lagoon creating a mirror effect that reflects the Sky and the mountains that at sunset will take your breath away with its beauty.
