TATIO GEYSERS & ANDEAN TOWNS – FULL DAY

Very early in the morning, we will drive north and after around 90 minutes we will reach one of the most important geothermal fields in the south hemisphere, not to mention that it is one the highest in the world located on around 4.300 mts of altitude above sea level. This geothermal field it is known as the “Geysers del Tatio”. Here, we will be amazed by its different geothermal manifestations such as waterjets, steam columns as well as the magnificent natural environment of the Andes mountain only within a few steps away from us. Moreover, you might be delighted by the pleasant water of a hot spring located on this area but only if you want. Continuing with our second part of the tour, while driving towards Calama we will enjoy and interesting sightseeing of several Andean towns such us Caspana, small town located on the lowest part of a cliff being protected elevated ground weather which has allowed human life since thousands years ago and the existence of several crop terraces. Finally, Chiu Chiu town famous of having one of the oldest churches in the country known as the San Francisco Church. Furthermore, being close to the Loa River allows this town to host the presence of different crops like carrots and fava beans that add variety on the diet of the local people.

Recommendations: Comfortable, warm clothing and shoes to go up to the High Andean plains due to potential low temperature, bathing suit, towel, mineral water, sunscreen. The night before, eat light and avoid alcohol.
