One of the most visited destinations in the Jujuy’s Puna region is undoubtedly the Salinas Grandes. This is our invitation to discover a way of life and a millenary economic activity such as the extraction and commercialization of SALT. An unmissable day visiting the salt flats, their communities, their workers and the processes that led this mineral to be a first class renewable exploitation asset category. La Salina, the landscapes that surround it and its people, make it possible to enjoy and learn from the salt processes to reach its consumption and the subsistence of many nitrate peoples. A bold proposed in the Puna.
The tour includes local guide of the nitrate community, visit to the salt mine, salt collection, visit to the center of artisan collection and division, and, in addition, lunch in the communities.
Recommendation: wear confortable clothes, hat, sun glasses and sunscreen.
