Tilcara and Maimara are divided by a small hill named “La Cruz” (The Cross). Following ancient llama paths, we arrive to lonely and untouched spots surrounded by different landscapes. The llamas carry everything necessary for lunch and snacks, as well as our belongings. We walk up through the Gusamayo riverbed, following a trail that leads to Punta Corral. We climb “Las siete vueltas” (seven turns) getting as high as 2800 meters a.s.l., and in a special spot we have lunch and enjoy a relaxing time. After lunch, we return to Tilcara with unique sights of Maimara´s Valley, Paleta del Pintor hill, Huichairas Ravine and Tilcara´s Pucara (Omahuacan-Incan fort, archeological place).
