The activity starts in Estancia Los Huemules, in the Visitor Center. From there, following upstream the Devil River, a hike of 2 hours through lush beech forest gives us access to the Laguna del Diablo (770 meters), from where you can see the Refugio Cagliero and from where the second part of the excursion begins.
This consists of walking along the north bank of the Laguna Diablo through an easy but irregular path until the beginning of a Via Ferrata (area prepared with steel cables and artificial steps for hikers to move autonomously and self-secured with harnesses specially designed for this purpose).
Before starting this section, necessary equipment is provided by the guides and they explain how to use it correctly and safely. The total length of this section
25 is 1 km, with 200 meters of altitude. An amazing view of the Laguna del Diablo valley and river can be enjoyed.
