We’ll begin the tour from the lovely Puerto Varas city, also known as “The City of Roses”, with a stop on the lake shore road to appreciate the view of the city from the bay and the “Aurora” sculpture with Llanquihue lake background.
We get to see many of the Attractions of here; the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church built during the year of 1915 to 1918, Baroque Style it’s an exact replica of a church in Black Forest, Germany, from there came some of the first settlers since 1852, The Old Neighbourhood.
We continue our tour heading about nine kilometers west of the Puerto Varas city to Nueva Braunau, a town founded in 1875 by families from the Province of Bohemia of the then Austro – Hungarian Empire, settled in these lands to work in agriculture and livestock. Today, this town is known for its dairy farms, and Antonio Felmer Niklitschek Museum brings together a major exhibition of objects representing the colonization process in this area; a sample of new culinary process, architecture, art, music and costumes of the settlers.
Later we will go across Las Lomas road from Lahuen Ñadi Natural Monument, a forest of Alerce trees, some of them from 5 to 1800 years old, where some trees reach 40 meters high. Let your senses encounter the singing birds, here is altogether a great variety of vegetation, an ever green forest of trees like, Mañío, Coigue, Lenga, Canelo, Tepa and the Native Forest of Alerce. As for wildlife, you can see birds such as the Black Woodpecker, the Huet Huet and Chucao, mammals such as Pudu, Zorro Gris and Monito del Monte.
To end in Angelmó, famous in Chile, because it has many Hand Crafts and Gifts shops, and of course the City Central Market, where we can see how It works one of the principal economic activities, the fishing and sea food, that gets there fresh from the boats to the buyers. Also here we have typical cooking places, basically restaurants where you can find sea food, fishes and other delicious specialities of the Chilean cuisine.
Recommendations: Comfortable clothes and shoes, hat, sunblock, sunglasses and if it rains a water resistant jacket.
