We depart in the morning for the Protected Area Peninsula Valdés appointed World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. One hour later we arrive at the Visitor Center Carlos Ameghino, which offers a thorough introduction to the natural wealth of the peninsula. Our next stop is the charming environment-friendly village Puerto Pirámides to observe a colony of Southern sea lions from the cliffs.
During the months of April, May through June 15th there are no boat tours in Puerto Pirámides. Lunch will be scheduled in Puerto Piramides. After lunch we head towards Punta Cantor on the east coast of the peninsula, to contemplate and interpret a striking geological formation known as Caleta Valdés, a large ocean inlet. According to the time of year, these beaches host Southern elephant seals, the largest seals on the planet. Along the journey there are good chances of spotting local wildlife, such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, cavies, armadillos and skunks.
Main Attractions: Elephant seals, sea lions, local wildlife.
