TATIO GEYSERS & MACHUCA VILLAGE – FULL DAY

Very early in the morning, we will drive north and after around 90 minutes we will reach one of the most important geothermal fields in the south hemisphere, not to mention that it is one the highest in the world located on around 4.300 mts of altitude above sea level. This geothermal field it is known as the “Geysers del Tatio”. Here, we will be amazed by its different geothermal manifestations such as water jets, steam columns as well as the magnificent natural environment of the Andes mountain only within a few steps away from us. Moreover, you might be delighted by the pleasant water of a hot spring located on this area but only if you want. Furthermore, while returning to San Pedro de Atacama some friends like the camelids Vicuñas, foxes and birds will show off and our mission will be to get the best picture of them also during a few stops breathtaking views are going to be spotted making this trip a 100% worth it. Finally, our excursion will be almost done while we visit the small town of Machuca, located on around 4.000 mts above sea level, place that host several Llama, sheep and goats shepherds. Nowadays, Machuca built mostly out of adobe houses and with a church built on early 18th century dedicates its time on tourism but always trying to keep its traditions alive.

Recommendations: Comfortable, warm clothing and shoes to go up to the High Andean plains due to potential low temperature, bathing suit, towel, mineral water, sunscreen. The night before, eat light and avoid alcohol.
