This is a tour to a scientific observatory, an icon in the scientific investigation of the skies of the southern hemisphere developed in Chile, operated by AURA in the interior of the Elqui Valley since 1967.
On the access road, you will see native flora and fauna and an attractive view of the Andean foothills, appreciable at 2,200 meters of altitude.
Tololo has 8 telescopes and a radio telescope. A visit is made under the supervision of a professional guide who will show us the Centre for Visitors. The visits are subject to availability and are only on Saturdays. It must be booked several weeks in advance.
Note: The program is suitable for those with special interests towards astronomy. Not suitable for infants. Children must be from 8 to 12 years old.
Recomendations: wear warm and comfortable clothing, sunglasses and sun protection. Bring a bottled water. Consider that there is no coffee service on the observatory.
Duration: 6 hours.
