We start our trek in Tilcara, archaeological capital of La Quebrada de Humahuaca, at 2500 meters a.s.l. The departure hour is at 8 AM and after we carry the llamas with our bags and food, we follow a trail used by the pilgrims in Easter time. We arrive to Zanjas, our destination, at 12 PM. There we meet the Martinez family, members of the local community, with whom we share a typical local lunch. The country, located at 3000 meters a.s.l. has about 1500 ha. and we can find interesting features such as small cascades, colored mountains, prehispanic crop terraces and archeological sites. After lunch we can do mini treks to visit these places. At 3 PM we begin our return and we arrive to Tilcara at 5 PM.
