All about the TORRES DEL PAINE BY TRUCK OVERLAND 4×4 – FULL DAY.

We leave the hotels in El Calafate as from 7:00 AM. After crossing the Patagonian steppe from North to South, you will arrive at the border post “Cancha Carrera” after a 2,5 hs trip. There, you will start to travel through the beautiful South Chile until you arrive at the Torres del Paine National Park(“Blue Towers” in the Tehuelche language due to the predominant color).
The trip from El Calafate to the National Park Torres del Paine takes 3,5 hs. Once in the park, we will combine rides in our exclusive Overland 4×4 truck and hikes, as there are many roads that go along the park and hundreds of hiking paths from one side to another.
As we organize this excursion in small groups we can adapt the itinerary and hikes
depending on the profile of the passengers, choosing the paths that fit better. By default, the level of difficulty of the activities in our programs is low, having the chance to change it for a higher level is the group asks for it. All the walks are done with our authorized trekking guides.
Onboard of our Overland trucks, we will go to strategic places from where we will start the hikes that will allow us to get to the viewpoints where we will have the most beautiful sights of the park.
Around noon, we will offer you a picnic at the mountain, in front of Paine waterfall, protected by our Overland Trucks. The lunch boxes are included and are abundant, which allows us to keep the adventurers fed during the entire day.
The places and viewpoints enjoyed during this experience depend on the weather
conditions, and it is left to the discretion of the tour guide.
Generally, if the Towers are being sighted since the morning, we enter the Park through Laguna Amarga (panoramic views of the Towers), once we arrive there, we descend and make the picnic in the River Paine bank. Those passengers that choose to have lunch in this place, will find tables and benches in a wonderful environment and also protected from the wind. Those who want to enjoy an extreme experience will be able to put their lunch boxes in their backpacks and take a walk with the tour guide through the Fauna Path to have lunch in a panoramic viewpoint. This is a 50 minute walk, with some difficulty, as it is
uphill.
Once back on track, and after stopping in different viewpoints (Laguna de los Cisnes, Mirador Superior del Nordenskjold), we arrive to Salto Grande, from where we take a walk towards the Cuernos del Paine Viewpoint on the side of Lake Nordenskjold. This is a 2 hour guided walk.
After this walk, we continue in the vehicle up to a new viewpoint, this time near Lake Pehoe, from where you will enjoy one of the most famous views of the National Park, with the “Cuernos” and the French Valley on the background, framed by Lakes Pehoe and Nordenskjold. From there you will be able to catch sight of Mount Paine Grande and the Almirante Nieto. Then, we head back to El Calafate.
