MOUNT TRONADOR AND VENTISQUERO GLACIER – FULL DAY

The walk leaves the city center, taking Route 40 south, in its On the way we will skirt the Gutiérrez lake, we will be able to observe the Cerro Ventana, Cerro Catedral and the watershed until reaching Lake Mascardi, a beautiful lake with varieties of color according to sunlight. Arriving at entrance of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, we will start a tour of curves in a mountain road, where the vegetation can be seen between coihues and cañas colihues. We will make short stops on the Lake Mascardi, we will visit Playa Negra, the Rapids Mirador de la Isla Corazón, and Pampa Linda. Later we will arrive at a glacial plain through which we will have the first view of Mount Tronador. The name of This mountain comes from the Mapuche language and is due to the frequent noise produced by glacial ice falls. The C ° Tronador serves as the boundary between Argentina and Chile, and is the highest peak high of the Patagonian region in this mountain sector of the National Park Nahuel Huapi. Arriving at the base of the Mount, we meet the Tronador at its best where we will appreciate its snow eternal at the top, the glacial ice called Ventisquero Negro, and the lagoon formed by their melting.
